Professor and medical residents from the SMS attended congresses in Dublin and San Francisco

Vanessa Henriques Carvalho MD, MSc, PhD, Professor from Department of Anesthesiology of School of Medical Sciences (SMS) of University of Campinas (Unicamp) attended the 37th Annual ESRA (The European Society of Regional Anaesthesia & Pain Therapy) Congress in Dublin, Ireland, from September 12th to 15th, 2018, focused on State of the Art Safety Standards in Regional Anaesthesia. Vanessa presented the paper “Postoperative analgesia for breast reconstruction surgery by latissimus dorsi (LD) flap with regional blocks of the thoracic wall. Case report”.

From October 13th to 17th, 2018, Prof. Vanessa and the medical residents  from the Department of Anesthesiology, Camila Fahl, Carolina Jeha, Francisca Goess, Laura Freitas, Renata Drummond, and Stephany Flores attended the Anesthesiology 2018 - Annual Meeting, organized by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), at Moscone Center, San Francisco, California, USA. During the ASA congress, they presented the papers “Is Erector Spinae Plane Block (ESP) a good alternative for analgesia to breast and toracic cancer surgery?” (presented by Prof. Vanessa), “Placenta Percreta Diagnosed During Elective Cesarian Delivery. A Challenge to all Anesthesiologists” (presented by Camila Fahl), and “Complication of Cervical AVM Embolization in the PACU. How to secure this difficult airway?” (presented by Laura Freitas). This was the largest participation of medical residents from SMS - Unicamp at ASA.
