Pós-Graduação em Ciências Médicas

Graduate course in the Medical Sciences

The Graduate Program in Medical Sciences aims to provide training of high-level research professors in various areas of basic or applied medical knowledge, offering conditions for the improvement of their research skills and allowing for the construction of a solid theoretical foundation, having been built around core compulsory and elective courses that allow for a vertical acquisition of knowledge in the diverse areas of knowledge offered. Our public of interest are medical and non-medical doctors and the program lasts from 12 to 30 months for Master's and from 24 to 48 months for the Doctorate.

Mental Health

1) Qualitative research in the health field:

This research topic is concerned with the investigation of symbolic meanings, from adult subject reports - patients, families, health professionals - about the phenomena of the health-disease process, such as the experiences of acute, chronic or disabling conditions; non-adherence to treatment and prevention; as well as disease stigma. Its research fields: clinical outpatient and inpatient units as well as emergency services. Employs the Clinical-Qualitative Method, a particularization of qualitative methods of the humanities and applied to medical settings. It seeks to interpret research results using a psychodynamic referential frame and in addition to a socio-cultural approach.
