Team of SMS publishes The Sports Medicine Physician

The book The Sports Medicine Physician aims to be the most current and comprehensive publication on sports medicine, physical fitness, sports injuries, rehabilitation, nutrition and hydration, biomechanics, sports equipment and sports practices at different ages. The book has 250 illustrations, 682 pages and brings together experts in the field of sports medicine, orthopedists and doctors from various experts from more than 20 countries.

The publication has as main editor Sérgio Rocha Piedade, a doctor and coordinator of the area of ​​exercise and sports medicine of the School of Medical Sciences and chair of the Committee of Sports Medicine of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine (Isakos). The book's launch is scheduled for May this year, during the Isakos Congress in Cancun, Mexico. The publication has the seal of the publisher Springer and is already for sale on the publisher's website in e-book or print formats.

According to Piedade, the book provides information on the full range of sports injuries and conditions that can be found by the sports medicine doctor as well as many other topics related to sports activity. It is the result of close collaboration between members of various ISAKOS committees, clinicians and scientists around the world who are recognized experts in sports medicine and orthopedics.
