About Winter Schools - School of Medical Sciences - Unicamp

Date: From 10th July to 14th July 2017.

Location: School of Medical Sciences - University of Campinas  

Fee: The courses will be free of charge for the selected students. The School of Medical Sciences will provide free accommodation at CPV Visiting Professor´s House (two students per room) with breakfast, and free lunch and dinner at Unicamp´s Restaurant. The student should pay for his/her ticket airplane, transportation to Campinas as well as their personal expenses.

Requirements/levels

a) to be an undergraduate medical student with a special interest in the courses offered

b) to be a professional in the health area

c) only foreign students or professionals

Certificate: will be delivered to the students after participating in the entire educational course.

Important note

The selected students are required to provide a Health Insurance (self-funded, to be sent by email one month before the course start), and a  valid visa.

About School of Medical Sciences

The School of Medical Sciences of Unicamp is responsible for the courses of Medicine and Speech Therapy (course shared with the Institute of Language Studies).The School consists of 318 teachers, 98% with a doctorate. In their undergraduate courses they study approximately 1.1 thousand students: 60% of them in Medicine and the others distributed in the other courses. In the postgraduate studies, 1,200 students are enrolled in 11 programs. Some of these students are foreigners attracted by the academic excellence of the institution. At the Medical Residency, FCM offers 79 programs accredited by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC), as well as complementary programs in 28 areas, with approximately 550 resident doctors.

Hospitals

UNICAMP has a complex health area such as the Hospital de Clínicas (HC), the Women's Hospital "Prof. Dr. José Aristodemo Pinotti "(Caism), Sumaré State Hospital (HES), Hemocentro, Gastrocentro, Health Centers and six Ambulatory Medical Specialties (AME) located in several municipalities in São Paulo. Together, they serve a population of five million people in the Macroregion of Campinas. Visitors can use the University Hospitals in case of emergency.
