EVALUATION AND RECOGNITION

The Master's degree in Health, Interdisciplinary practice and rehabilitation received grade 4 in the CAPES evaluation.

OBJECTIVES

1. To train professors and researchers with extensive and critical view of the social, health, habilitation and rehabilitation processes, an interdisciplinary perspective.

2. Train professors and researchers with an interdisciplinary and integrated view of human development processes and its changes, with respect to disability, human communication, language and rehabilitation.

3. To train professors and researchers to work at the intersection of different fields of knowledge, higher education, in training programs, in the planning, implementation and evaluation of policies and actions of health and education involving human development and rehabilitation.

4. To qualify professors and researchers for the innovative application of knowledge produced in the area.

GRADUATE STUDENT PROFILE

The course aims to train professionals to act as professors and researchers in higher education and research institutions, linked to the areas of health and education. These professionals should be able to identify, analyze and understand the processes of human development and changes, and the actions for habilitation and rehabilitation of disability in the field of prevention, health promotion and social inclusion. In addition, it is expected that graduates of the course build skills and competencies that enable them to design, formulate and implement actions and social policies and health education as well as developing research applied to problem solving in these different fields, with an interdisciplinary view.

PROFESSORS

The course has eighteen credentialed professors in the program, with degrees obtained in the following areas: Medical Sciences - Neurology, Ophthalmology, Mental Health, Public Health; Human Communication Disorders; Pathophysiology; Applied Linguistics; Educational, school and experimental Psychology; Education; Child and Adolescence Health.

Areas of interest: Human development: childhood and adolescence; visual impairment, learning disabilities; acquisition of oral and written language; public policy: inclusion and special education; evaluation of policies, programs and services.

Psychologist (1972), Master (1978) and Doctor (1990) in Experimental Psychology, Institute of Psychology, USP.

Areas of interest: Developmental Psychology: cognitive, social and language development, focusing on "play" and "concept development".  Learning difficulties and developmental changes, visual impairment, intellectual disabilities.  Training of health professionals for the care of disabled patients.

Speech therapist (1989) Audiologist (2001) Master from the Institute of Physics at USP (2000). Major area: Acoustics and Doctor from the School of Medicine, USP (2004) - major area: Experimental Pathophysiology.

Areas of interest: hearing aids, audiological diagnosis, acoustics and psychoacoustics applied to the auditory system.
