Other Guidelines:
Co-authors of the scientific work and co-supervisors may not participate in the Judging Committee, either as a full or alternate member (general University rule). Individuals with any degree of kinship with the student or the supervisor are also prohibited from being part of the committee.
The co-supervisor's name will be recorded on the Dissertation/Thesis copies and in the Defense Record. In the event that the supervisor is unable to participate in the examining committee, the co-supervisor will replace them.
The inclusion of co-supervisors in the SIGA System can only be done after their accreditation in the Program. This request is the sole responsibility of the supervisor/student, who must arrange it at least 30 days in advance.
- Master's Examining Committee: The supervisor is responsible for indicating to the CPG/SC the names of three full members (their own as chair, one member external to Unicamp, and one member from Unicamp, or two external members) and two alternate members (one external and one internal, or both external).
- Doctorate Examining Committee: The supervisor is responsible for indicating to the CPG/SC the names of five full members (their own as chair, two members external to Unicamp and two internal members, or one internal member and three external members, or all four external members) and three alternate members (one internal member, if there is one on the committee, and two external members, or all three external members).
The indicated faculty members must have scientific output compatible with that required for accreditation in the program (at least 3 articles with an impact factor greater than 1 in the last 3 years).
The student must contact the Examining Committee members regarding their date and time availability, deliver the invitations to participate in the Committee, and provide all audiovisual material to be used during the presentation of the work (if not available in the scheduled room).
The thesis draft or pro-forma should be sent by the student to all members of the Examining Committee (both full and alternate members) along with the invitation letter issued by the program secretariat.
ATTENTION: We do not provide water and coffee for defenses, and coffee breaks are not
permitted in the CPG/FCM Amphitheater.
