Precision Medicine (PM) combines different types of information, aiming to improve healthcare. Furthermore, given a large amount of data to be analyzed, artificial intelligence (AI) is critical for PM.

These issues were discussed in this webinar by three panelists, Dr. Laurence Richer (University of Alberta, Canada), Dr. Ivan Segura-Duran (Mayo Clinic, USA), and Dr. Iscia Lopes-Cendes (University of Campinas, Brazil).

The panel addressed several questions, including the need for sharing information in public databases, the role of genetics and genomics, and the impact of AI in medical care.

Because the Brazilian population has a unique genomic structure, Dr. Lopes-Cendes highlighted the need for additional studies about population genomics, including the role of the Brazilian Initiative on Precision Medicine (BIPMed, www.bipmed.org).
