The Department of Medical Genetics of School of Medical Sciences (SMS) of University of Campinas (Unicamp) received the visit of two Iranian biologists from the Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. Mrs. Leyla Norouzibarough stayed from June 28th to August 4th, 2018, at the Laboratory of Computational Biology and Biostatistics to be trained in the more recent bioinformatics methods to analyze human genome data. Mrs. Sharifeh Khosravi stayed for the same period at the Laboratory of Molecular Cytogenetics and received basic training in the most current cytogenomics techniques.

The training was carried out by the staff of both laboratories, and Profs Tarsis Vieira (Department of Medical Genetics), Iscia Lopes Cendes (Department of Medical Genetics) and Benilton Carvalho (Department of Statistics, Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Scientific Computing) were the supervisors. Upon their return to Iran, Mrs. Norouzibarough and Mrs. Khosravi will be in charge of replicating what they learned by training additional personnel.
