On November 30th, Unicamp held a free-of-charge scientific event, which had the presence of 98 participants, including professors, academics and healthcare professionals, especially from physiotherapists, physicians and nurses.

The event was centered on research projects developed as part of postgraduate programs (Postgraduate Program in Surgical Sciences of the School of Medical Sciences (SMS) - Unicamp and the Postgraduate Program in Rehabilitation Sciences of the Federal University of Alfenas). As part of it, interdisciplinary talks were held, strengthening the teamwork spirit, most importantly between physiotherapists and physicians.

Present, were also speakers from different universities from across Brazil and one from Germany, german physiotherapist Baerbel Junginger – researcher at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, with studies about the use of ultrasound as a biofeedback on pelvic floor dysfunctions.

The event also counted with a session entitled PITCHING SESSION: Physiotherapy and Innovation: what’s new? – which promoted the presentations of projects linked to innovation and technology developed in two universities: Unicamp itself and UNIFAL-MG.

With the objective of spreading the event to a broader audience in Latin America, parts of the event were broadcast online via Unicamp Urology’s YouTube channel, at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0nunFrqcqk, with the help of ALAPP – Asociación Latinoamericana de Piso Pélvico (Pelvic Floor Latin American Association).
